Singing for the mind helps those living with dementia

It’s a generally accepted fact that singing familiar songs, empowers those people living with dementia.

Our “singing for the mind” groups take place twice per month. Alternating between Sacred Heat Church, Silver Link Glascote & Community Together CIC Hub in the castle grounds. We’d love to see you, come & join us

Help with Social Isolation

Although not directly related to Dementia,Social Isolation has been identified as a major issue in Tamworth.

With an ageing population, social isolation is becoming a UK wide issue.

Based on the latest Health & Well being data for Tamworth, the town has over 15,000 people aged 65 or over, of which over 3,500 are lone pensioners. Additionally, there are almost 7,000 income deprived pensioner households. Both the lone pensioner & income deprived groups are at high risk of social isolation.

Home Instead Senior Care & Community together cic are holding a series of events to address the issue.

 Community Together CIC hold a weekly befriending lunch every Wednesday at their Hub is Tamworth Castle grounds. details are on their website http://www.communitytogethercic.org.uk/agewell.html

Men tend to be more reticent to join social groups, to help Senior Gents with Isolation Issues, Home Instead Senior Care will be holding a Senior Gents Club at St John's Church Tamworth every Tuesday
