Opinion Research Services (ORS) Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Engagement

Saturday 9 March 2019

The Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Engagement: Making England the Best Place in the World for Dementia Care.

If you, or somebody close to you, has been diagnosed with dementia in the last few years Opinion Research Services (ORS) would really like to hear from you.

ORS are inviting people with a dementia diagnosis, or their main carer (either family or friend) to complete a short questionnaire about the experience of living with dementia. This is an important opportunity to share experiences and maybe help shape and improve services in the future.

The questionnaire asks about experiences of day-to-day living and dementia friendly communities. At the end, they provide an opportunity to sign up to receive further questionnaires in the future.

To complete this questionnaire and help with this important study, please go online to www.opinionresearch.co.uk/dementia2020panel. You can also view previous reports and see what other people are saying about their experiences.

To receive a questionnaire in the post, call and ORS will be happy to send one or answer any questions you may have. Please contact Claire Thomas at ORS on 01792 535 337 or claire.thomas@ors.org.uk

Everyone who participates in this survey will be asked if they are willing to be re-contacted for the subsequent research by signing up to the Citizens’ Panel but will not be put under any pressure to do so. People who join the Panel will be sent a questionnaire in April 2019, and may be asked to take part in an interview or focus group but again there is no pressure to take part in this.

ORS have been asked to run the panel on behalf of the Department of Health & Social Care and anticipate doing so until July 2019 at the latest. After that time, it is possible it will continue running but may be managed by another research company. Respondents will be kept informed about what will happen to the Panel in the future. If the Panel continues beyond July 2019, respondents will be sent a letter informing them of the organisation(s) that would store the data, and would have the option to leave the Panel. For more information please go to www.ors.org.uk/privacy

The project has been commissioned by the Department of Health for England and the work is being carried out by Opinion Research Services (ORS), an independent research organisation.
