Challenge on Dementia 2020 survey
Thank you to those members who filled in the Challenge on Dementia 2020 survey on behalf of the DAA.
We collated these responses and sent to the Department of Health and Social Care on behalf of the DAA.
The DAA Secretariat and Steering Group have backed up this response with a letter to the DHSC and you can read the letter here.
This submission is a collation of the following:
- Care England
- Alzheimer's Research UK
- Royal College of Nursing
- Dementia Adventure
- RMBI Care Company
- Royal College of General Practitioners
- Solicitors for the Elderly
- Arts 4 Dementia
- The Butterfly Scheme
- Memory Tracks Ltd
The Dementia 2020 Challenge was devised in 2015 and since then, diagnosis rates, and the number of Dementia Friends, Dementia Friendly Communities and NHS staff receiving dementia awareness training have increased.
In the 2016 Implementation Plan, the DHSC committed to a 2018 review of the progress of the 2020 Challenge and whether commitments will be fulfilled. The results of this review will inform the next stage of the Challenge and establish what additional actions can be taken to ensure commitments are met by 2020.
This was an excellent opportunity for members to have their voice heard and for the DAA to submit a coordinated response. Together our voice is stronger.
