Diagnosing dementia in younger people

Friday 11 May 2018

A diagnosis of young onset dementia takes an average of 4.4 years, twice as long as a person aged over the age of 65.

GP guide cover shot Nov 2017In response to this disturbing statistic, the Young Dementia Network has created a guide to support GPs in recognising possible symptoms and aid onward referral.  We believe the guide is a vital aid to increasing GPs understanding and awareness of the wide-ranging symptoms of this relatively rare condition.

Developed and created using feedback from our Network members and GPs across the UK, the guide has been endorsed by the Royal College of GPs.

You can download the guide online here Paper copies of the guide are also available, please contact network@youngdementiauk.org to request your copy.
