National Audit of Dementia
The National Audit of Dementia measures the performance of general hospitals against criteria relating to care delivery which are known to affect people with dementia. The fourth round of the National Audit of Dementia (care in general hospitals) will start on April 16th 2018.
Hospitals will complete four elements for the audit:
- Hospital-level organisational checklist (April – June)
- Retrospective casenote audit (May – September)
- Survey of carer experience of quality of care (June – September)
- Staff questionnaire (June – September)
There is still time to register for Round 4! The first guidance documents will be issued in March, ready for the audit to begin in April. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email the project team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the last round of audit, 199 hospitals submitted data from over 10,000 casenotes, and questionnaires were completed by more than 14,000 staff and 4,000 carers. You can view the results of the last round in the national report at: www.rcpsych.ac.uk/dementiareport2017
