Healthwatch Shropshire
Healthwatch Shropshire is the health and social care champion for people and local communities in Shropshire. We are here to help make sure everyone gets the best from their health and social care services – also that those services are as good as they can be and work in a joined up way. We aim to give patients, service users, carers and the wider public a real say in the way health and social care services are run. We always aim to be transparent and approachable. We are here for both individuals and organisations in local communities – and to work with health and social care providers. We have the right to visit, unannounced if needed, places providing health and social care ,– including hospitals, GP practices, dentists, pharmacists, residential homes and home care services – then report and publicise what we find. We call these visits ‘Enter and View’. We also go out into communities, working with established groups and charities, to hold meetings and events, gather evidence and ask for opinions on specific issues. Healthwatch Shropshire is independent and has real clout. We have a duty to challenge poor care where we find it. We have a seat on the Shropshire Health and Wellbeing Board, which makes decisions about how the NHS, local councils and social care organisations deliver their services. Our team of staff and volunteers work with individuals, groups and communities, plus health and social care professionals and service volunteers.

Healthwatch Suffolk
Healthwatch Suffolk is an independent consumer champion that gives people in Suffolk real influence over decisions about health and social care services in the county. We find out what you think about your services and then use those views to shape and improve them because the best services are built around your needs and experiences. We can enter and view any premises where publically funded health or social care is provided with the exception of children’s services and also provide information and signposting to help you navigate the health and social care system and understand what to do when things go wrong. We have the role to listen and the power to significantly influence change within the health and social care system. We get your voice heard where it matters; where decisions are made.

Heath Pharmacy
Community pharmacists were known in the past as chemists. Like GPs, community pharmacists are part of the NHS family. Every day about 1.6 million people visit a pharmacy in England. Community pharmacies are situated in high street locations, in neighbourhood centres, in supermarkets and in the heart of the most deprived communities. Many are open long hours when other health care professionals are unavailable. There are several different types and sizes of community pharmacies ranging from the large chains with shops on every High Street or in edge of town supermarkets, to small individually owned pharmacies in small communities in the suburbs and often in deprived areas or rural settings. The traditional role of the community pharmacist as the healthcare professional who dispenses prescriptions written by doctors has changed. In recent years community pharmacists have been developing clinical services in addition to the traditional dispensing role to allow better integration and team working with the rest of the NHS.
