1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
Bognor Regis and Worthing Shopmobility supports people to help them live their life. We provide a supportive environment to enable our customers to retain their independence.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
Training our volunteers to better understand the needs of our customers who are living with dementia. Ensuring that our bookings system and reception process is easy to understand.

Review of booking procedures and registration process to ensure Dementia Friendly format
Review registration forms to ensure that the registration & booking process of mobility scooters and wheelchairs is Dementia Friendly.
Supporting volunteers with Dementia
Bognor & Worthing Shopmobility will ensure that all volunteers with Dementia are supported by another volunteer. We will create a safe and supported environment for volunteers to work in. Tasks will be set which are short, clearly explained and meaningful.
