1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We seek to promote awareness of dementia issues to our staff so that those living with dementia  and their carers feel comfortable and at ease. A number of us have experience of dementia through family and friends. We would wish to review what we do on a regular basis and endeavour to improve our facilities and our awareness of dementia issues with the help of DAA.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

None - its basic customer care and part of our usual services. Staff receive training on equality, discrimination awareness and it is part of the company ethos to respect and value those who may be more vulnerable.
