1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Funding and provision of volunteers for monthly dementia-friendly film screenings in partnership with Cinema City, Norwich. These are designed for people with dementia, their carers and families and film-themed activities in addition to the screenings are included before each screening, together with tea and coffee before the film and during the break.  The aim is to invoke memories of happy times at the cinema and our experience is that we are achieving our expected outcome.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Raising money to fund the sessions is always a challenge, but otherwise the programme is working well due to the cooperation and generosity of Cinema City in using its facilities.

2. Actions

  • Engagement and support to people with dementia, their carers and families.

To continue and extend our current programme of funding of film screenings in partnership with Cinema City, Norwich. We have already secured funding up to June 2020.
