1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

MSVA is involved with  the local DAA's in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath. We promote their activities and encourage organisations to become members of their local alliance.  Our membership includes organisations and voluntary groups  that are delivering fronline services to people living with dementia and their carers.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

MSVA will:: Promote dementia awareness by offering staff and volunteers an opportunity to attend a dementia friend awareness session Include information about dementia friendly Mid Sussex in our e bulletins to promote the 3 DAAs Encourage voluntary organisations with volunteers with a dementia diagnosis to adapt policies and processes that will enable the volunteer to continue helping for as long as they can.
