1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We are aiming to introduce the concept of dementia to our pupils and they can become involved.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The age range of the children may be a challenge. Dementia Friends information sessions will be adapted for their age.

2. Actions

  • To build links between Sprowston Dementia Friendly Community, the local Dementia Cafe and the school

We will arrange for the pupils to visit the Sprowston Dementia Cafe and for the Dementia Champions for Sprowston Dementia Friendly Community to come and visit the school to speak with our pupils.

  • To invite parents and staff to participate

We plan on running a Dementia Friends information session for parents and/or staff.

  • To encourage children to respond with their own thoughts and ideas.

We will set up an activity with the children for them to fill in elf-less act hats.
