African Carribean Carers
The African and Caribbean Career Group is a support group for African or African-Caribbean origin. We provide an outreach and support services specifically for African Caribbean people living in Luton. In collaboration with Lewsey Farm Learning Centre. Our services include: What we do; -Providing information, advice and advocacy -Health Promotion -Health talks on wellbeing and health living -Advice on healthy balanced food -Healthy cook and eat sessions -Benefit and Welfare advice - Befriending support in the community for older people and carers -Bereavement Support -Sign post informal carers to relevant agencies -Give emotional support

1. Action Plan
Action 1;Provide support to carers; Personalised support for Carers: Carers will be able to access coffee mornings and drop in sessions where their needs can be assessed and supported in order to plan their own lives.
Action 2: Support carers to by healthy;
Supporting Carers to be healthy: By offering health checks, health promotion to raise awareness on health issues specific to African Caribbean communities

What we are going to do:
We offer and share information and raise awareness on relevant topics such as dementia, winter warmth, benefits, pension, healthy life style. It also offers bereavement counselling and advocacy
This included hosting a Dementia Friends Session on 25/11/16.
