1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

With our society in general becoming much more aware of dementia and how it affects families, we want to play our part by making our swimming pool dementia friendly and by supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and other organisations working in this field. Any actions that we may consider in raising greater awareness will be shaped by advice from the Alzheimer’s Society and by the Dementia-Friendly Newport Steering Group.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Maintaining momentum long-term is always a challenge in these matters, but by keeping in touch with the Alzheimer’s Society and the Dementia-Friendly Newport Steering Group, we are confident of keeping up with our commitments.
