1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

All staff have undertaken a Dementia Friends session,  to raise their awareness and knowledge of those living in the community with Dementia.

The Dementia Friends session covered things such as:

*Assisting people within the store with counting change

*Assisting people with finding the right item, if they have difficulty verbalising what they would like.

Three members of staff have joined the Dementia Action Alliance so that they can help shape their community to becoming more inclusive to those living with Dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

There were no challenges.

Staff came in on their personal time to undertake the session.
