1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We want our staff at Eastern Financial Consultants to have a good understanding of dementia so we can support individuals and families having to make important financial decisions. We also want to ensure that our offices are easily accessible for our clients living with dementia and their families and carers.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The location of our office as a 1st floor with stairs only access

  • Checking our physical environment

We will undertake a dementia friendly physical environment check and make changes accordingly to improve accessibility to our office for those living with dementia and their family and carers.

  • Nominate a dedicated Dementia Friends Champion

We will nominate a member of staff to attend a Dementia Friends Champion induction day. This member of staff will then ensure awareness training sessions are completed by all staff and that staff are kept up-to-date on dementia awareness and dementia-friendly measures.
