Curzon Cinema Wimbledon

Situated above the HMV store a stone's throw from Wimbledon Station, hmvcurzon Wimbledon has three intimate screens equipped with the crisp digital projection - showing the latest art house, forgiegn language and quality mainstream films along with special events such as NT Live, MET Opera and Royal Opera House Live. Just like all the Curzon venues there are comfy seats and a nice bar that you can relax in before or after the film.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We would like our cinema to contribute to making the lives of people who are living with dementia a lot better and would like to host Dementia Friendly screenings which will hopefully allow them to enjoy watching films at our venue.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

I have already spoken to Patrick Gray regarding hosting Dementia Friendly screenings here.

As this is something that we have not offered before it would be beneficial if we could have a site visit and go round each area to make sure that we can make our venue dementia friendly for potential screenings.

I would like all of the management and staff to attend a training session if possible too which would be extremely helpful to us.

From completing these, we can then move forward with looking into setting up the screenings.
