Shannon Court RMBI

Set in nine acres of woodland, Shannon Court is a beautifully renovated Edwardian country home, situated in the picturesque village of Hindhead in Surrey. We provide residential care and dementia support for up to 53 residents. Who we are: Caring has been our way of life since 1842 and we provide a home for over 1,000 people across England and Wales – while supporting many more.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Shannon Court would like to become a DAA Member as we have two Dementia Units and feel that we would benefit from input from the DAA to develop our network within the local community.

We would like to introduce more activities within our Dementia Units and would like to build connections for us to invite volunteers to Shannon Court to interact with staff and residents.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Shannon Court is starting to focus on a lot more activities for our residents with Dementia but would appreciate some guidance as to where to seek certain organisations and support.

We would like to start a project and feel that this may be a musical themed project if this was something that could assist the DAA.
