Driving Miss Daisy offers a safe, friendly and reliable driving and companion service for children, the disabled, the elderly and anyone who is unable to drive, but wishes to remain independent, including those with dementia. For the family of a someone with dementia, we can offer a respite – let us do the donkey work of taking mum/dad to their various appointments, whilst you spend quality time with them separately. ______________________________ Driving Miss Daisy Newmarket is owned by Bridgette and Michael Banham and we are both drivers. We offer a unique service, not covered by any other transportation or care service. Important to us is the comfort and safety of our clients and peace of mind for their family. __________________________________________________________ Driving Miss Daisy will help with: _______________________________________________________________________ – Trips to the doctor, hospital, podiatrist, hairdresser and any other appointments you may have. _______________ – Organising and accompanying on social outings. Friends welcome! ________________________________________ – Shopping assistance as needed; especially helpful if there are several stops to make. __________________________ – Supporting clients with special needs. _________________________________________________________________ – Delivering children safely to and from school or activities. ________________________________________________ – Taking pets to the vet. ____________________________________________________________________________ We're a trusted service offering much more than transportation. We collect you, drive you to and from your destination and provide assistance as you require. All of our drivers are DBS checked, private hire licensed, first aid accredited and trained to assist with your mobility, giving you peace of mind. _________________________________ For those with dementia, we do everything that your own family would do for you. Making sure that you are safe and comfortable, whilst helping you to have a level of independence. _____________________________________ We also offer a non-driving companion service, so that we will sit with people for whom their carer has provided a meal, whilst they eat.

1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We are based in Kentford, to the east of Newmarket and operate in the town and surrounding villages.
We are trained as dementia friends.
We are also advocates for our clients, so that we will call the relevant authority (family, social services etc), if we believe our client is in a vulnerable situation.

All Driving Miss Daisy Newmarket drivers and staff are Dementia Friends.

Driving Miss Daisy Newmarket will work with the Newmarket Dementia Action Alliance to support Newmarket to become a dementia friendly community and encourage other organisations to attend Dementia Friends sessions and sign up to the Dementia Action Alliance.

Promoting dementia awareness
Driving Miss Daisy Newmarket will display the NDAA window sticker to show it is a member of the NDAA and to demonstrate it is a dementia friendly Company. In addition, our corporate livery is in dementia-friendly colours and the vehicles are very recognisable to those living with dementia.
