1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

By ensuring that a persons transport needs are fully met in a professional and friendly manner. We also strive to ensure that our customers have the best transport experience possible using friendly approachable drivers who understand the needs of an individual and exceed their expectations. We also want to ensure parents or carers have the confidence in allowing us to provide safe and comfortable transport allowing people to access services and venues that they want and need.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Ensuring all staff have suitable knowledge and skills to provide transport tailored to an individuals needs

Lack of or insufficient information from organisations or carers about the passenger to allow our drivers to better serve the customers needs

Organisations not allowing sufficient time to allow us to fully meet a passengers transport need.

People's perception that all taxi/private hire drivers are the same, and dont care or do not understand a persons individual needs
