1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We would like to provide free/low-cost screenings of films suitable for people with dementia and their carers, in an appropriate environment and with refreshments.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
The main problems envisioned are cost (most notably film hire costs) and access (the cinema does not have level access)
All volunteers to become dementia friends by Dec 2019
All members of the committee, plus salaried staff and volunteers to undertake a dementia awareness course.
Develop dementia friendly screenings for David Lean Cinema aiming to start Jan 2019
Put in place a strategy to deliver such screenings, including funding, date/time/frequency of screenings, staff involved and their duties, modifications to environment and usual screening methods to accommodate audience needs.
Deliver and promote dementia friendly screenings during 2019
Produce a programme of dementia friendly screenings for 2019, including an communications strategy.
