1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Our staff have received coaching on dementia and as a result have attained the status of ‘dementia friends’. The staff are trained to recognise the signs of customers who may require additional assistance particularly with their banking matters. The role of Community Banker has also been introduced (although not solely) to assist customers who may have difficulty attending the branch and would be suitable for a home visit.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

A general challenge is that of time but the staff are trained to look after individuals who may require additional care and attention.
