1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We are keen to promote the wider work of dementia services in our local community and to look at the possibility of expanding the information that we have on dementia in the library. We have a number of people living with dementia that use the library and are always keen to hear their views on how services can be improved.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

 Raising awareness of Dementia amongst team volunteers and beneficiaries  and ensuring that all new staff and volunteers become dementia friends

  • Dementia Friends

    Provide dementia friends sessions for staff and violunteers

  • Ensure Library is Easy to Navigate

    Inspection of the library premises to ensure signage, fixtures and fittings are dementia friendly. Look at applying for funding from the BH DAA adapting environments budget for help to improve space. Ask person living with dementia from the DEEP group to do a walk around to help us
