1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists a number of outcomes that we are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Research has found that clear signage with pictorial descriptions, contrasting colours and bold text can greatly improve life for people in a care environment by assisting them to locate a specific room easily. At Signs Express we have a range of Signage specifically designed to meet this criteria.

 2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The Challenges we face as an organisation are informing Care Providers about the benefits that simple clear signage can have on the people in care, and for the care staff themselves.

2. Actions

  • Create new partnerships

Creating new partnerships with care homes in order to encourage the use of dementia friendly signage

  • Develop sigange options available

Work with care homes and people with dementia to develop signage options available/adapt existing signage for the needs of people living with dementia.

  • Develop and deliver signage

We will work with the dementia care workforce to develop and deliver high quality dementia signage which will help people in care locate a specific room by themselves giving them the ability to be more independent.
