1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We are a ladies fashion retailer in the town centre. Through training/awareness sessions we will improve our customer services on how to recognise the signs of a customer that may have dementia/vulnerability. We would be able to support them if needed. Our store is also registered with West Suffolk Council as a disable friendly store.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

High staff turnover, time and resources.

2. Actions

  • Improve our understanding of Dementia

We will arrange for all staff/volunteers to be dementia aware to ensure greater understanding of the condition and how we can help.
