1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We are located in the town centre, through training/awareness sessions we will improve our customer services on how to recognise the signs of a customer that may have dementia/vulnerability. We would be able to support them if need be.  We are keen to work with Newmarket Dementia Alliance and support their work that those living with dementia and their carers feel comfortable and at ease. We would wish to review what we do on a regular basis and endeavour to improve our facilities and our awareness of dementia issues.   We would seek to resolve specific problems that may occur with individuals from time to time.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Making sure that all staff have a good understanding of the issues surrounding people living with Dementia by attending and cascading training. Helping staff not to make assumptions.
