1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
As an organisation that is an intrinsic part of our local communities we feel that it is important that we are able to assist our clients, and their families, that may be affected by dementia. We need our staff to be aware of how dementia may affect be aware of how dementia may affect client choices, decisions made, the services that we offer and on-going support to them and their families at a time of bereavement.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
The difficulties that we believe that we may initially face are in staff education but we believe that the steps outlined further on in our submission, and regular review, will ensure that we overcome them.
Host a Dementia Friends Information Session at our employee breakfast club meeting followed by a discussion and Q&A on how people accessing our services may be affected by dementia.

Share information on our bereavement support services with the members of Luton DAA so that all organisations know how to refer people that may need these to both:
Signpost our customers who are affected by dementia to useful resources
Share information to families affected by dementia on how bereavement may affect a person living with dementia
