1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Ensuring that all staff and drivers are aware of the difficulties that passengers who have Demetia may encounter so that we are well placed to provide the appropritae solution.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Getting the training delivered in a timely manner and to the most appropriate staff/drivers initially.

2. Actions

  • Increase number of staff/drivers to attend training

    Complete a plan to ensure staff/drivers go through the Dementia Friends Training

  • Ensure drivers are given sufficient information when transporting people who have Dementia

    Ensure telephonist staff gather appropriate information and this is distributed to drivers accordingly

    Ensuring staff and drivers are aware of appropriate language to use
