1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We can detect underlying problems such as high blood pressure, obesity, stroke and heart attack risk that are associated with or can lead to dementia.

At general screening events in Essex and Suffolk we provide NHS Health Checks for men aged 40-75, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening for men aged 50plus and Prostate Cancer screening for men aged 40plus.

We also run events specifically for Prostate Cancer screening with the simple PSA blood test.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We have not identified any challenges at this stage.
