1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Following our dementia friendly community workshop we will be putting the following into place to deliver better outcomes for those with dementia, and their carers -

We will put up a clear sign so that patients are aware we are a Dental practice when they are sat in the waiting room.

We will put up signs directing to the toilet and surgeries.

When we need new flooring we will be more mindful of the type of flooring we use.

We will include and talk directly to the patient rather than talk to carer.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

There may be slight financial implacations with implementing some of these outcomes, but we will stagger the implementation with regards to the flooring.

  • New Flooring

We will look to change the flooring as we have a very dark mat at the enterance of the practice and this could be unnerving for some patients.
