1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

To show our commitment to developing our employees' understanding of dementia and continuing to adapt and improve the service we provide to meet the needs of the person living with dementia within the local community.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Team members fully understanding the effects of dementia and how they can confidently deal with any guest whatever their circumstance.

2. Actions

  • Middletons Team to become Dementia Friends

    Ensure team are trained and have a good understanding of the differences of the stages of Dementia. 

    Understand what specific things we can do to help to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit for all Dementia Friends.

  • Join the Norwich City Dementia Action Alliance and the Dementia Friendly Norwich campaign

    We will work with Age UK Norwich and other alliance members in raising the profile of dementia in the city.

  • Promote our involvement with the Dementia Friendly Norwich campaign

    Our customers will know it is something we support, that our staff have awareness and to encourage people with dementia and their families to come along to our restaurant.
