1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We provide information and advice for clients, partner agencies, carers and support workers. We offer appointments at our town centre offices, at various outreach locations and via the telephone. We accept referrals from other organisations. We also offer a Welfare Benefits form filling service and tribunal representation as well as specialist advice in Employment, Money Advice and Tax.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We have limited resource available to us, in terms of finance, people and space. This provides us with the challenge of trying to deliver often complex and time-consuming advice to everyone who tries to access our services.

    We will offer Dementia awareness training to all of our volunteer advisers and staff.
