Our Mission is People Helping People across the rural community and beyond, but talking to all and making all feel welcome and safe. Place to drop in a place not to be lonely and a place to get support and help over anything in short, the Pace to be. The Newcastle LAP is involved to ensure that all within the Newcastle rural are ail covers are engaged and working together to ensure all areas are covered by this new and exciting working partnership.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Discussions have already taken place that established that there is considerable interest in the issue.
We will establish what is important locally for people affected by dementia by:-
• Experience and knowledge from other similar areas.
• Working actively with local organisations such as the local befrienders group to establish the needs of people with dementia and their carers.
• Working with the local GP Surgery and PPG.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We will look at establishing a Steering Group of partner organisations, including people with dementia themselves, to review progress against a clear set of measurable objectives.

The possibility of peer reviews by other local DAA/DF groups nearby will be explored.
