1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
As a prominent local business with a largely young workforce Mettricks is keen to be fully accessible to everyone and supporting our teams and customers to be aware of and able to respond to the condition will enable to do this.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
We have a large team that by its nature (hospitality) does constantly change. We will have a quarterly focus to ensure all new starters are encouraged to become Dementia Friends.
Become Dementia Friends
Members of our team will be encouraged to become Dementia Friends to drive awareness of dementia
Create a quiet space in each site
Encourage our teams to guide people to an established quiet and comfortable area of our sites if appropriate
Watch and share information videos
We will make these available to staff
