Southampton City Art Gallery

The gallery is based in Southampton’s Civic Centre and opened in the year 1939. It offers the opportunity to enjoy high quality exhibitions ranging from painting, sculpture and drawing, to photography and film. It also offers a permanent collection and displays that change regularly to ensure new experiences with each visit. It holds a internationally important collection of over 5,300 works of art.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We will ensure there is a supportive environment for all visitors.  We will ensure that our staff are helpful and informative.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Multiple staff and limited budget. Training to be made across staff and volunteers.
