1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Coordinating the activities of Ludlow DAA members to achieve the national outcomes locally, with the aim of Ludlow becoming a Dementia Friendly Community.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Coordinating disparate groups and organisations with different aims and differing understandings of dementia.

  • Promote the work of the Ludlow DAA.

    Attract organisations and individuals to join the Ludlow DAA and support its work.

  • Publicise and coordinate local support for those with dementia and their carers.

    Investigate all existing support in the local community for those with dementia and their carers and publicise this as widely as possible. Encourage the provision of additional support.

  • Encourage people to undertake Dementia Friend information sessions across the local community.

    Advertise Dementia Friend information sessions locally and encourage DAA members and other organisations and individuals to take part. Publicise the Dementia Awareness videos as widely as possible using social media.
