Make a difference to the lives of people living with Dementia by increasing knowledge and understanding, to help people live well with Dementia. We will support the work of the DAA and see Great Yarmouth become a Dementia Friendly Town.

What we are going to do we are going to carry on raising awareness by holding awareness days in Gt Yarmouth , the J U P H , The Forum in Norwich and other locations including Norwich Station where we will put on a display of memorabilia which attracts a lot oif attention and therefore ‘raises awareness’

We are at the moment working with Coastal Village Practices and East Coast Practice holding informal meets and get togethers for people living with dementia or newly diagnosed patients . at these we offer practical advice and also have a wide range of information available for people to take away . this will continue

Norfolk Constabulary, Great Yarmouth (1) Herbert Protocol
The police in Great Yarmouth will set up a system to register a Herbert Protocol in cases when someone with dementia, who lives in their own home, and is at risk from wandering or has been missing and later found. A copy will then be kept in the home and it will be tagged to the Police Control Room.- Status:

Norfolk County Council works closely with its partner agencies including the statutory and voluntary sectors. We are going to carry on doing as much reminiscence training as we can which makes carers and cared for’s lives that little bit easier we have already trained between 5 and 600 candidates from all walks of life and all, parts of Norfolk and Nth Suffolk including the N H S Dementia team in the J U P H Gt Yarmouth .
