1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
Ensure that our Raceday Staff have had training on how to help a racegoer who has dementia. Know what the signs are of someone who is living with dementia. Improve our signage and interior so that it will help someone with dementia be able to navigate around the site more easily
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
Raceday Staff are employed on a temporary basis, so training is difficult to give. On busy racedays staff may be under pressure and therefore find it difficult to identify that a person is living with dementia. There are also budget constraints for new signage and interior around the site.
