1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Training

All branch staff will be trained in becoming dementia friends

Dementia friends champions

Some dementia friends will go on to dementia friends champion training to enable us to deliver our own dementia friends sessions to staff in the future

Awareness raising

We will inform service users and/or family on how to make their environment dementia friendly,  and help and support them to live well n their community and as independently as possible

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

It may be difficult to get all  staff together to ensure they receive dementia friends training, which is why we would like to have dementia friends champions of our own
