1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We have a contemporary tranquil environment at our premises, which would support people with dementia and their families, by giving them a safe space where a warm welcome is given, and support where required.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We have previously worked in a care environment, and it may be that our challenges would be minimal in many extents, but we would ensure that our team are supported with training and knowledge to be confident dementia friendly advocates.

2. Actions

  • Bereavement and dementia resource

We have created a resource for our staff regarding bereavement and dementia. We are able to share this with local DAA's and other organisations that may find it of value.
