1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

PPM Limited are a locally based responsive and planned maintenance company working in Cumbria and Yorkshire delivering services to social housing providers, private clients and local councils.

We are contracted by Cumbria County Council to carry out all minor disabled adaptations throughout the whole of Cumbria.

As  property maintenance company working predominantly in peoples homes we can often come across people living with dementia. This has increased significantly since we started carrying out adaptations for the local councils for elderly and disabled customers. We want to provide the best possible customer service and recognise the extra care required for those customers who may be living with dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

‘Ensuring our staff understand the condition, recognising this in our customers and being aware of how best to support their needs.’
