1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Sprowston Dementia Friendly Community is a local initiative allied with Broadland Dementia Action Alliance. We are a group of local people with a passion for Sprowston and an interest in Dementia. Our aim is to raise awareness of Dementia, and to allow people living with dementia within our community to feel safe, supported and valued. Local Businesses and community groups will be invited to attend/hold Dementia Awareness and Information sessions.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Our group are all volunteers and consists of some Alzheimer Dementia Champions who provide awareness through dementia friends information sessions and some people who can provide further in depth training around living with dementia.
