1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

It is about having an awareness, having experienced dementia with a family member I can provide guidance to staff on how to deal/react to situations.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Behavioral changes in customers with dementia if they appear to become confused and/or disorientated within their surroundings.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friends

    We are going to attend a Dementia Friends session.

  • Review environment

    We are going to review the environment of our cafe and see if there is anything that can be done to improve the layout/environment for customers with dementia.

  • Display newsletter

    We are going to display a newsletter within the cafe providing information regarding upcoming Dementia Friends sessions within the area, any dementia friendly activities going on within the area, and any other information of interest regarding dementia awareness.
