1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
Alzheimer's Society is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with dementia through various channels e.g. support and information services (inlcuding a national helpline), research projects, and campaigns.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
There remains a stigma attached to dementia which we are seeking to overcome. We also require large amounts of funding to continue to support our client group effectively
Dementia Awareness Week events
We will plan and deliver a number of awareness raising events throughout Dementia Awareness Week in May 2017
Increase the number of Dementia Friends in our borough
We will deliver as many Dementia Friends Information Sessions as we can in the borough of Ealing and Hounslow
We will participate in fundraising events such as Dementia Awareness Week, Cupcake Day, and Memory Walk
