Art Care Education ACE
ACE is a charity supporting creative activity. Regardless of their age or background we believe everyone can benefit from creative inspiration in their lives. Our principle aims as a charity are to promote Art and creative activity, to inspire, empower and enable people to develop and grow. We give a platform for artists and makers, provide course and deliver creative projects focusing on community health and wellbeing. We have a gallery in the centre of Somerton and are working towards becoming more dementia friendly as an art gallery

1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We are working to enhance people's experience when visiting the galery and towards "dementia friendly" gallery status. Our charitable aims include a "care" component and we offer creative sessions to people living with dementia. We are also leading a project in Somerton for the town to become a dementia friendly community.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
2 of our Trustees have been trained as Dementia Friends Champions and we are actively sharing this information within our local community. We have made progress towards making our galery more dementia friendly and we want to develop this further as well as making our education programme suitable for all abilities.
