1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Wem Town Hall is committed to improving access to the arts for people with dementia and their carers. We want to deliver a safe and protected environment where local people can socialise and integrate into their local community. Our dementia friendly cinema showings have already influenced the creation of a carers group and the application to become a dementia friendly town.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

A local understanding and awareness of dementia is a challenge as well as our location which can be tricky for people with dementia to access without the help or assistance of a carer.
