1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Help people maintain their Spirituality (which is not necessarily the same as faith) by organising suitable activities within the Cathedral eg music or art. Also mainainting faith spirituality by offering dementia friendly worship.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Working around the many religious services and other activities  which are not necessarily dementia friendly.

2. Actions

  • Improve our understanding of Dementia

We hope, eventually to have all staff and volunteers attend Dementia Awareness sessions and become Dementia Friends.

  • To develop Dementia Friendly services for those living with dementia including carers

We need to look at the Cathedral Programme and decide a suitable time and venue.

  • To consult on other activities which could be run in the Cathedral

Art or music activities could be held.
