Kings Corner Surgery

Kings Corner Surgery is situated in the semi-rural village of Sunninghill in Ascot Berkshire. We provide General Medical Services for our registered patients and on occasions patients registered with other GP practices or other temporary residents. We pride ourselves on the provision of good quality Primary Care Services delivered in a clean suitably equipped safe environment All patients are treated with dignity and respect and pro-actively involved in the development and maintenance of good quality services through the patient representation group and patient feed back We strive to deliver innovative flexible solutions that support health and well being.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Kings Corner Surgery wish to become part of the Dementia Action Alliance as this link provides us with the knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care for people with dementia and their carers

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We will review our action plan in our monthly team meetings and in conjunction with our PPG feedback.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friendly Environmental Review

    In association with people with dementia and their carers we will organise a walkabout at the surgery to review the internal environment and implement any suggestions made.

  • Dementia Awareness

    We will encourage all staff to become Dementia Friends by holding a one hour awareness session for them to attend.  We will work with the DAA coordinator to schedule this.

  • Provision of up to date literature & DAW support

    Provision of up to date literature and information displayed in waiting areas and awareness of local services and support to signpost individuals to.

    Support and promote events taking place within Dementia Awareness Week 2017 through the surgery and the surgery website.
