1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

To become dementia awarness friends and therefore provide and extend our services to dementia sufferers and their carers

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Making all staff aware through staff meetings and updates

  • Arrange Team meetings in salons

    Team meeting to include Dementia Awareness education / presentation Follow up session to refresh staff members and analyse effectiveness

    All reception staff to be aware of needs of those living with dementia

    Follow up phone calls to carers. Dates times of appointments clarified

    Assistance with pickup and transport and reporting to carers after appointment

    Include our dementia awareness policy on salon website and all forms of social media to alert both careres and dementia sufferes at early stage of illness that we are sympathetic to any possible needs  (both existing and new clients)
