1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

  • Providing quilts which soothe and stimulate people with restless forms of dementia
  • Developing designs which provoke conversation between older person and loved ones/carers
  • Raising awareness about dementia
  • Bringing together groups of people to make the quilts
  • Links to useful relevant organisations, information and advice for people with dementia and their families/carers

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

  • Connecting with people who would like to make fidget quilts, as the idea is relatively underdeveloped
  • Connecting with organisations/individuals who would like to receive them
  • Establishing what is best practice for design of quilts
