1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We provide help and advice with Power of Attorney to arrange a pre paid funeral plan, or for the carer to have a pre paid funeral plan.  All plans will be discussed sensitively as we are a family run business with first hand experience of caring for someone with dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The sensitivity of talking about dementia can be a barrier for people; not wanting to discuss the future of how the disease will progress.

2. Actions

  • Raising awareness - The importance of funeral planning

A family run business and we have first hand experience of dementia.  We feel that we can support people through the process of discussing and putting end of life and funeral plans into place for both the person with dementia and the carer.
